Storage Resources

Tips and advice to help you get the most from your storage unit.

Packing Tips

  • Use sturdy, uniform-sized boxes for easier stacking.
  • Label every box on at least two sides with a brief description of the contents.
  • Wrap fragile items individually with packing paper or bubble wrap.
  • Place items you may need to access frequently near the front of the unit.
  • Disassemble large furniture to save space. Keep hardware in labeled bags.
  • Fill boxes completely to prevent collapsing when stacked.
  • Store mattresses and upholstered furniture with protective covers.
  • Use shelving units to keep smaller items organized and accessible.

What Not to Store

For the safety of all tenants, the following items should not be stored in any self-storage unit:

  • Perishable food items
  • Flammable or explosive materials
  • Hazardous chemicals or waste
  • Living plants or animals
  • Stolen goods or illegal items
  • Unregistered vehicles (check facility policy)
